Visuals - Characters
post ideas/prototypes/character concept art here!
SO, i figure whoever is doing the spriting is gonna need this information here.
This is for the BATTLE ANIMATION ONLY.
Basically, were going to need one big sheet, 4x11. looks something like this:

Each row represents a specific animation; each animation is only 4 frames (which is absolutely fine). The layout is as follows
1.Idle position
2.Taking Damage/Hit
3.Low HP
4.Guard pose
5. Charge/Forward Movement
6. Flee/Return Movement
7.Primary ATK
8.Secondary ATK
9.Use Item/Cast Magic pose
10.Victory Pose
11.Dead pose
Now, the only things that I would suggest changing, is the width of each column. The ONLY reason for this, is for the Death pose. basically, i think for the battlers, we can still make the sprites 32x64 like we have been, but make them in a box thats 64x64, that way when we get to the dead pose, it isnt squished (like seen in my example)
If you guys want to make each frame individually, i can piece them together properly.
But anyway, this is how it HAS to be done for it to work properly.

Well, heres a sprite i created based on what James drew. It's pretty god awful lulz. 32px x 64px

Thats hilarious, jons is awesome as well.
I just thought I'd mention though, what kind of SHIT STORM your getting into with this whole spriting thing...I'd say this covers a good 2% of what we need. and thats being generous. Granted, I will help out. Just thought I'd warn ya lol. anyway, i appreciate what you've gotten done so far.

JAMES. We need to have a Jon that isnt cyborg form. THe idea is, if you look at the most recent plot/story thread, i betray you all by being the only one to escape dogmans release. well. The cyborg jon can be the after effect of dogmans experiments.

ALSO, James, if you would rather draw characters by hand, (or at least portraits) we CAN scan and import them. For portraits, a white background would be best. However, if you plan to do sprites by hand, i would suggest on drawing on some bright background color (bright green, pink). This way, i can easily remove the background color from the picture.

I don't wanna crack down on the hilarity that is the characters you guys have come up with already, but I found this site great for a side project I'm working on.
My browser translated the page just fine, and by working with the tabs under the appropriate picture, be it male or female you are open to an array of character design.
Just thought I'd share.
